When is the last day to register?
Online registration will close on Thursday, June 22nd or when we reach capacity of 500.
Paper registrations can be mailed in or filled out at Blandford’s Visitor Center.
The Kids Fun Run will begin at 6:30 pm, and the 5K race will start promptly at 7:00 pm. Any late comers can begin to run once they have checked in.
When is Check-In?
6/20 Packet Pick-up #1 – Founder’s Brewing Co. | 5:30-7:30 pm
6/21 Packet Pick-up #2 – Blandford Auditorium | 5:30-7:30 pm
Day of Check-In starts at 4:30-6:30 pm.
What is the course like?
The course is a 3.1 mile trail loop that takes you on a tour of Blandford’s property. Racers will begin and end at the Blandford Farm and will go past the reconstructed meadow, through wooded terrain, and past Brandywine Creek.
Are there awards or prizes?
The Top finisher in these categories will also receive a 1 year membership to Blandford Nature Center! (a $50 value)

What ages/fitness levels can participate?
The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is open for kids up to age 12. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to accompany their child on the run.
The Youth 5K Division is open to kids 14 years or younger that can complete a 5K race, either running or walking.
The Adult 5K Division is open to those 15 years or older than can complete a 5K race, either running or walking.
What do I bring?
- Bug Spray
- Valid ID (if you would like to have an adult beverage from Founder’s)
- Reusable Water Bottle
What type of race is this?
This is a friendly, chip-timed race that welcomes runners and walkers of all ages ad fitness levels. We will have participants line up for the start, with more competitive runners in the front, followed by joggers and walkers. Please be courteous on the course and allow those going at a faster pace to pass.
In order to preserve plant diversity and prevent erosion, please stay on designated trails.
Aid Stations/Hydration Stations
- We will have First Aid at all Hydration on the course.
- There are 3 Hydration Stations available. Two will be on the course for participants and one will be in our Summer Celebration Area.
What do I get with the entry fee?
- Free beverage (beer or soft drink). Beer available from Founder’s Brewing Co. Show your race bib and valid ID at the beer tent to redeem your complimentary beverage of your choice.
- Free hot dogs, compliments of Rockford Corner Bar.
- Free snow-cones and popcorn compliments of West View Church.
Where do I park?
Parking will be available at the C.A. Frost Environmental Science Academy, located at 1460 Laughlin Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, as well as across from the school along Trail Dr. NW. Those parking there will follow the signs/volunteers to the wood chipped trail that leads to the Blandford Farm (it is stroller accessible).
Those who require handicap accessibility will be given access to the Farm”s limited parking spaces.
There will also be limited street parking on the west side of Milo St. near the Blandford Farm. Volunteers will be there to help direct traffic. Please give yourself extra time to park and walk to the race area.
Are refunds available?
We are sorry, but no refunds will be given. We are making preparations for you to be there. If you are unable to attend, your registration fee will be considered a donation to Blandford Nature Center .
What are the Awards/Prizes?
The Top 3 finishers in the following categories receive medals: Men’s 5K, Women 5K, Youth Female, Youth Male. The top finishers in these categories will also receive a 1 year Family Membership to Blandford Nature Center! (A $50 value)
Top Female and Male runners of the Kids Fun Run will also receive medals.
What is the Weather Policy?
Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and/or extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the Longest Day 5k web site and Facebook page so that they can adequately prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations.
On race day, the Race Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the course. Possible scenarios include: change of race start time on the scheduled date, modification of the race format or cancellation of the event. No refunds will be given should the event cancel due to extreme weather. Rain alone is not cause for cancellation.
Wet, slick paths, standing water and poor visibility due to heavy rains may require rerouting or shortening the course. Make sure that you dress for the weather.
Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments.
